Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton, winner of 46 bouts and uncanny number of knockouts, will defend his IBO and Ring Magazine’s Super Lightweight/Jr. Welterweight Title against the flashy Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada tonight, November 22, 2008 (Nov 23 here in the Phils) in Ricky’s attempt to sweep all the major belts in the division. This fight will be broadcasted live and provided on streaming video by HBO PPV. Ticket sales are very poor because neither fighter is an American, but I think this bout is interesting enough to get some fans look for the Hatton vs Malignaggi video online. How to watch the fight? The odds are heavily on Hatton’s side with a 14-5 advantage. Many predicts that he will win this one by knockout, but if you have seen Malignaggi’s fight with Miguel Cotto who I think is a much decent power boxer than Hatton, you’re going to dismiss the fact that Hatton can knock out Paulie. Ricky weighed 140 lbs on weigh-in night, while Paulie was at 139 lbs. Whatever other people say though, I think this is going to be a very exciting fight between a brawler and a speedy boxer.

I predict Ricky Hatton to come out of this bout alive but I don’t think he will knock the lights out of Paulie Malignaggi. One reason to watch this fight for Filipinos is that Boom-Boom Bautista vs Heriberto Ruiz will be on the undercard.
