Update: Watch the Pacquiao vs Diaz Fight Live Online Video on Boxing Videos

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, winner of the WBC SuperFeatherweight Fight versus Juan Manuel Marquez, is my winner for the upcoming fight versus David “Dangerous” Diaz for the WBC Lightweight Division Championship currently held by Diaz. The highlight fight will be held on Saturday night June 28, 2009 (Sunday morning of June 29 here in the Philippines) at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, which you can watch live on HBO pay-per-view (PPV) aptly entitled Lethal Combination. As usual, I will post the fight videos round by round as they are available on Youtube and other video-sharing websites. I’m not sure if tickets are still available for the fight but speaking from experience, I think they are already sold out to the cheapest and the last. The weigh-in (video will be posted asap) will be on June 27 and I think Manny will make the wieght. He says in another website that he is already at 135 lbs, a result of his strict training regimen.

My bold prediction for the result of this fight, which the Las Vegas oddmakers and bettors completely agree on, is that our very own Mexican Destroyer Manny Pacquiao (46-3-2, 34 KOs) will be the winner of the fight. Manny has proven that he can stand toe-to-toe with a prime boxer in Juan Manuel Marquez, and David Diaz (34-1-1, 17 KOs) is no different only that he is much aggresive than JMM. I think Pacquiao’s defense after years of training and workout with trainer Freddie Roach has improved and proved too tough for other hard-hitting Mexican fighters in the likes of Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Marquez. Thus I don’t think Diaz can knockout Manny. Not only that, Pacquiao retains his speed and adds more power to his punches with the additional weight. For those who think that it is dangerous for Manny to move up in weight, remember that he had a hard time maintaining 130 pounds in his last fight against Marquez, meaning his ideal fighting weight right now is 135 pounds, the division currently controlled by David Diaz. The quest for a fourth World Title, a first by any Asian boxer, is very achievable by Manny. David Diaz on the the other hand is a slugger-fighter who never backs down. He is hard-hitting but does not have that power Manny has. Pacman of course is a little Mike Tyson and will never back down against Diaz. Pacquiao says in interviews that he will control the fight from the start of the bell, and I’m sure th
