Yes–Gerry Penalosa, the pride of San Carlos City, Philippines emerged the winner by totally outclassing Thai Sor Vorapin at their fight today at the Araneta Coliseum.
Penalosa showed consistency and patience all throughout the whole fight, catching Vorapin in the body and the face at times. By the 8th round, the Thai’s face was a mess. Then, Gerry Penalosa dropped combinations that put the Thai on the canvas. On the first instance, Vorapin touched gloves with the floor but the referee didn’t rule it a knockdown. For a while, Gerry got furious with combinations and this time dropped Vorapin for good. You can see in the Thai’s face the abuse he received from Penalosa. He got up though but the fight was stopped when the referee determined that the Thai cannot fight anymore.
