Here’s the first thing you should do after setting up your blog. Sign up for Technorati. What is it for? Am not really sure before, hehe, but Yuga told me it was important to sign-up for technorati and so I did. Just following the master’s orders. No, really.

Advantages:

  • allows you to see all the links going to your website and to your posts
  • hooks your articles up with TAGS, making them easier to search for other people
  • increases your visibility( technorati tracks all changes to almost every blog in the Internet. powerful right?)

    • Steps in signing up for Technorati
    1) Go to their website http://www.technorati.com

    2) Click on sign-up. Provide your information.

    3) After signing up, go to the option where it says “Claim Your Blog.”

    4) Follow the procedures. You can claim your blog by either a) inputting your blog’s username and password or b) posting the code that they give you on one of your posts, publishing it, and clicking on “Release the Spiders.” I prefer the second one.

    5) After this you will get the option to post the Technorati Favorite Button on your website. Copy the code and paste it where you want on your blog.

    6) That’s it. Visit technorati regularly to see your rank. The higher it is the better, because that will mean that other blogs are linking to you.
